Job Description:
The School of Business & Professional Careers seeks a full-time Instructor of Computer Information Systems (Tenure Track). The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Teach a full-time course load
- Hold weekly office hours, dedicated to serving students
- Update and develop courses and curricula
- Develop course and program assessment methods
- Assist in maintaining and upgrading computer labs
- Assist in program marketing and recruitment efforts
- Participate in academic advisement of students
- Participate in Department, Division and College-wide committees and other activities
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is required that the successful candidate possess a Master's Degree in Information Systems or a related field, as well as a minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience or comparable professional experience.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is preferred that candidates will possess:
- Three years of experience teaching software applications, specifically Microsoft products and data analytics tools
- Three years of industry experience in information systems
- Experience teaching with web-based instructional tools and distance learning technologies
- Experience in course/curriculum development and assessment
- Experience in administrative functions
Additional Information:
POSITION EFFECTIVE: Fall 2025
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $75,170. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $88,234. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a choice of defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plan, generous leave benefits, and access to tax sheltered annuities and a deferred compensation plan.
