Development Associate, Office of Gift Planning (OGP)
Job Description
DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, Office of Gift Planning (OGP), serves as an operations coordinator and gift administrator for planned gifts and realized bequests. Will assist with the administration of life income gifts, bequest intentions, IRA donations, and realized bequests, as well as help to coordinate other types of complex gifts; and work closely with donors, prospects, advisors, staff, MIT’s Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), MIT's Recording Secretary’s Office (RSO), MIT’s Office of General Counsel (OGC), MIT’s external legal counsel, and TIAA Kaspick to facilitate gift transactions, administrate the life income gift program, and outside managed trusts and estates.
Job Requirements:REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of relevant work experience; fundamental understanding of planned giving vehicles; excellent customer service, meticulous attention to detail, resourcefulness, reliability, and a flexible approach to the working environment; ability to work independently and as a team member; knowledge of office procedures; high level of discretion; ability to analyze, synthesize, present and solicit information across departments and prioritize work assignments; ability to effectively organize oneself and others; solid problem-solving, time management and decision-making skills; must be able to multi-task, and meet deadlines, without compromising quality, in a demanding, high-volume work environment; demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in a professional setting, as well as a familiarity with FileMaker Pro, database management, and system operations. PREFERRED: Directly related experience in fundraising, planned giving, development, banking, legal or financial services; familiarity with PGCalc software, FileMaker, Tableau, and customer relationship management systems; interest in development profession; and project management experience. This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings and weekends, as needed.
