Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to gene therapy product development with focus areas in drug product formulation and manufacturing process design. The _Product Development team has a proven track record of designing products, formulations and processes that are portable to the commercial market in an accelerated fashion.

• Supporting a range of DP activities, including designing, and executing experiments related to gene therapy vectors formulation and stability

• Supporting a range of gene therapy techniques cell culture activities, including aseptic technique, cell expansion, transient transfection, and harvest

• Supporting a range of DP analytical activities, including ELISA and PCR assays

• Analyzing and interpreting experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions

• Creating clear and concise presentations summarizing project findings for the internal team

• Interacting with _ scientists and researchers in various departments within the company

• Collaborating with a mentor team of cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class

• Completing a special project and presenting the findings and recommendations to senior management upon completion

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree with an interest in biotechnology

• Specific degree or field required: _Biology, Cell biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related field

• Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required

• Familiarity with biopharmaceutical technologies, physical and life sciences, product development, and regulatory approval processes is desirable

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to think creatively and be a team player

• Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Bring to the Company a skill set complementary to its technology and development therapeutics

• Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more

• Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program

• Lab Work Requirements: Full-time
