The Nuclear Command Communications Systems Group (QKR) is seeking a Senior Cameo Modeler to help us become a center of excellence for digital engineering and MBSE. You will become a crucial part of our multi-disciplinary team where we value technical quality, positive mentalities, and innovation.

 

We are looking for a Senior Cameo Modeler who wants to provide mentoring to junior modelers and systems engineers as we expand our digital engineering portfolio. These junior staff are learning MBSE on the job and are ready to improve their skills and start to cultivate big-picture, systems thinking with your support and guidance. Our team is also striving to become a center of excellence for Digital Engineering and MBSE, and we will be looking to you to devise a cohesive set of methods, processes, and guidelines for developing MBSE tools and improving interoperability between existing tools and models.

Technical knowledge to attain the above goals could include knowledge of systems engineering, MBSE, Cameo tools, and the implementation of relevant standards such as DODAF. As a Senior Cameo Modeler, your duties will include...

  • Cultivating the digital engineering capabilities of junior staff by training, performing quality checks, and sitting with staff members.
  • Identifying and deploying methods, processes, and guidelines for developing MBSE as part of the capabilities development process.
  • Participating on teams working to advance the capabilities of essential national systems; You will analyze and assess existing MBSE capabilities and identify gaps and needs.
  • Delivering presentations to sponsors and working groups to effectively communicate proposed concepts, solutions and analysis findings.
  • Collaborating with engineers and scientists in a diverse team environment to develop digital engineering products.
  • Applying MBSE to drive requirements development from operational capabilities/needs to describe system performance, resilience, cybersecurity and other characteristics.
  • Helping to define MBSE design review requirements and update our current systems engineering process to apply sophisticated MBSE techniques.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another related field.
  • Have at least ten years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Have a strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Possess a significant knowledge of systems modeling techniques and methodologies.
  • Are familiar with systems engineering languages like SysML or other industry-specific languages.
  • Can demonstrate proficiency in using MBSE tools and software, such Cameo Systems Modeler or IBM Engineering Systems Rational Rhapsody.
  • Have the ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions, especially in system architecture and integration.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and good organizational skills.
  • Have the ability to lead, work independently, and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Have a willingness and ability to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in MBSE, tools, and industry standard methodologies.
  • Are willing and able to occasionally travel, including both local and non-local travel.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Possess a Master's degree (or higher) in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or another related field.
  • Have at least fifteen years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • Have experience in Air Force and/or Navy platforms and systems in NC3.
  • Possess competence in using software tools for analysis, simulation, and validation, such as MATLAB/Simulink or other domain-specific software.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills for requirements analysis, risk assessment, and performance analysis of systems.
  • Have an active Top Secret Clearance.

The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. $90,000 Annually

Maximum Rate

$330,000 Annually
