Schedule dependent upon assigned classes. Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement 24/25.
Position Summary
This division is home to the following: Accounting, Administrative Office Technology, Anthropology, Business, Criminal Justice, Culinary Management, Early Childhood Education, Economics, Education, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Science, History, Management, Marketing, Paralegal Studies, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.
*** This Adjunct Pool AY24/25 will be active until May 31, 2025.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Including but are not limited to:
- Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students
- Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments
- Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary
- Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related data
- Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas)
- Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results
- Maintain currency in professional field
- Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence
Required Qualifications
- Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices.
- Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
